The Point of No Return
The Point of No Return
Good Day Everyone,
I am back! Ah it has been too long since I wrote to you all. Part 2 of the transformation gave me some serious writers block. The main focus was just growing and eating; nothing all that exciting to write about. Put on about 15lbs since November 16th, intentional of course. But now…NOW…comes the fun part. Now is the point of no return.
The time has finally come for the #wildwilltransformation to come to its epic completion. 14 weeks of prep began this weekend for the Kevin

Weighing in at 225lbs. So you can see some weight has been put on. Again all intentional to add mass.
Noble Muscle Mania May 17th. The next 14 weeks are going to be nothing like you have ever seen before. So many times you have just seen the before picture and the after picture. You’ve never been able to see the during pictures; the during journey; the struggles; the good and the bad. For most of you this will be the first time you have seen a full transformation from humble beginning to glorious end.
Last week I met with Coach Steve to go over the plan, let me share some of the secrets with you. First off is the meal plan, everyone wants to know about the meal plan. Well similar to Part 1 Coach Steve has created an evolving meal plan that will change based on how my body is responding. Protein is of course high, carbs are moderate and fat is low. Now in the next two weeks that could all change bases on response. I personally am not following a flexible diet plan (being able to eat whatever you want as long as it fits in your macros). That kind of plan doesn’t work for me; I require the kind of discipline it takes to consistently eat (more…)
Passion
Follow a Path Passion
Passion: A strong amorous feeling.
Do you have a passion? Are you following your passion? Without following or having a passion for something, anything really, what are you doing with your life? Just going through the motions? Well not this guy, and hopefully not you once you’ve finished reading this week’s blog entry.
Having a passion is the driving force to get you to your goals in life. Whatever those goals may be: better job, better home, better car, more money, etc. We all have a lot of different goals. But for the point of this post let’s just focus on health and fitness goals.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume that all of you know what my passion and goals are for health and fitness. Just in case you don’t already know, my goal is to do whatever it takes to become an IFBB Pro Mens Physique competitor. That driving passion I have to achieve that goal gets me to the gym to push harder each day, even when I’m tired and really don’t feel like it. It’s that passion, that drive that stops me from making the wrong choices against my meal plan. Without passion you have nothing.
So what is your passion? I want you to think about it. Think about that driving force, that passion that fuels you. Think about your goals, what do you want to achieve? Now think why those goals are your goals and why do you want to achieve them? The answer that you just gave me is your passion. Use that answer to fuel you.
There are going to be the days (more…)
Wild Will’s Cold Weather Health Tips
Wild Will’s Cold Weather Health Tips
- Drink the optimal amount of water. With the winter season here, it’s more important than ever to consume the right amount of water for your health.
- Keep stress to a minimum. Studies have linked high stress levels to making a person more susceptible to catching colds and flu. Minimize your stress by working reasonable hours at your job. Aim for at least one night per week to spend with friends and family.
- Do your homework to find the best supplement for your health. Even if you eat “perfectly” all the time with loads of fresh fruits and vegetables, you still need to boost your nutrition with a supplement. What supplements you will need will depend significantly on your lifestyle
- Eat a healthy diet. Maintaining a good healthy diet full of fresh fruits and vegetables and minimal amounts of organic meats
is another way to keep your body clean and in good working order. Try eating an extra piece of fruit or veggie every day too!
- Exercise regularly. It is important to exercise regularly, even if only for 15 minutes a day! Get out and take a short walk and enjoy the cooler weather.
- Get the right amount of sleep every night. The average person needs 6-8 hours of sleep per night. If you’re not getting enough sleep, your body is extremely vulnerable to illness. Sleep is very much like fuel that recharges your batteries! You’ve got to do it to keep the machine running.
- Wash your hands regularly. Keep the bacteria and viruses off your hands and out of your mouth and eyes. Keep a bottle of hand sanitizer close-by for those instances where you can’t get to soap and water. (more…)
The Resolution is Coming
The Resolution is Coming!!!
It’s that time of year again. As a new year comes close, all of us current gym goers start moaning and whining about the “New Year’s Resolution people. How annoying they are, how crowded the gym gets, blah, blah, blah. My question is WHY? Why do we get so upset about these people who are trying to make a difference in their lives? New Years is that time of year where people look at themselves and try to better themselves. So why do we as people, who have been trying to better ourselves all year, look at these people with rolled eyes? They are no different than us when we started; they are just doing it at a certain time of year.
Some of you may be saying, “Well Wild Will, it’s because they get in the way and they don’t stay long, so what’s the point?” Ok, well, do you think maybe they don’t stay because people like you are rolling your eyes, making comments and being all around rude? Sitting there with your buddies or your girls and making comments like “Argh, the New Year’s people.” Don’t you think that maybe a new year’s person within ear shot may now feel discouraged and leave? Also, how many veteran gym goers can you think of right now that follow every single etiquette rule in the gym? I can’t think of any now myself.
Who the hell are we to get mad or annoyed with someone who is trying to reach their fitness goals? Look at it this way, what is the
difference between someone joining the gym in September vs. January? We don’t get annoyed with this person. We don’t go, “Argh, the fall people are here.” We don’t even notice. Yet, come the whole month of January our noses are stuck up in the air like we are superior to these people. Well guess what, we are not! So instead of getting all annoyed when these new people don’t follow all the rules of the gym, why don’t you offer your help? Let
them know that when a towel is put on a bench that is the international gym symbol for “I’m using this bench.” Or, let them know that it is courteous to re-rack their weights. For those of you who (more…)
Pass the Windex Please-Part 2
Pass the Windex Please – Part 2
Hello Friends,
I hope you all enjoyed Part 1 were I went into detail over why the concept of “clean eating” is useless. In Part 2 I am going to go over other options for you to live a sustainable healthy lifestyle without having to give up all the foods you love.
As I mentioned in Part 1, the idea of clean eating does have merit. It is best to eat foods that are as real and whole as possible. We live in a world were breakfast is a pastry that goes in a toaster. Lunch is prepackaged, frozen and reheated in the microwave and you just need to add water for dinner. Go take a walk around your local grocery store and you will see meals that come in boxes, breads that last for weeks, cookies that last for years and veggies that last for months. WHAT!! That’s not right and we all know it. Yet we are all guilty of eating it. So what is a person to do, not eat clean, but eat processed foods instead? No of course not, like I mentioned in Part 1 it’s all about nutrient dense food. Here is an example:
Breakfast
Steel cut oatmeal (oatmeal without the oat already being rolled out)

Look all the yummy food you can eat. Doesn’t look very restrictive to me. However I don’t see any windex so clearly this bodybuilder is not eating clean.
EggsAlmonds
Lunch
Grilled Chicken
Sweet Potato
Fresh broccoli
Dinner
Sirloin steak
Brown rice
Grilled asparagus
Look at that meal plan, all real, whole foods. According to a Vegan, Vegetarian or someone on the Paleo diet, I technically would not be eating clean. Instead when I just say I eat nutrient dense foods, notice I have all my bases covered: lean protein-check, complex carbs-check and healthy fats-check. You see, Super easy, and super easy to prepare as well.
So let’s just get to the point: STOP FOLLOWING A DIET! Stop listening to people who think they are superior because of the way they eat. Just eat real food; it’s that simple. It doesn’t matter if a cave man would eat it or if it’s sad that an animal died for you to eat. What matters is the quality of food going into your body and that it fits your goals. Eating clean was once a great idea, but now it has turned itself upside and backwards. So, stop wasting your time feeling bad about not following someone else’s plan. Be honest with yourself and your meal plan. Make room for that fact that, yes, sometimes you are going to have chips, eat McDonalds, have liquor or any of the other “bad” things you know you shouldn’t be putting in your body. Look, if you are not doing these “bad” things (more…)
Pass the Windex Please Part 1
Pass the Windex Please Part 1
I hope everyone is doing well and spending each day getting closer and closer to their fitness goals. Not much has changed on my end: still bulking, sticking to the meal plan and doing the workouts written by Coach Steve. So, since there is not much new on my end I have decided to use this week’s blog to take on the most annoying and poorly used fitness phrase: “clean eating”.
(I have broken this blog into 2 Parts. Part 1 is going to focus on the stupidity that is clean eating and Part 2 is going to focus on the better alternative nutrient dense eating.)
Clean eating has become the latest in health and fitness insanity. What once started as a good idea has turned to the opposite. Here is the thing my friends, and I’m going to say it loud, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS CLEAN EATING!!! I can’t stress that enough. It’s false, it’s fake, it doesn’t exist. In fact, the people who continually use the phrase are the same people who only a few years back said they only eat organic. All that has changed is the words, their superior and holier than thou attitude has not. Think about the people who say they eat clean, what are they really saying? “I’m better then you because I eat clean” or “I’m healthier then you because I eat clean” blah, blah, blah! It’s just a bunch of crap from people who need to feel special.
Clean eating began to take roots when more and more people realized that the more processed or “fake” a food is, the worse it is for you. That is a good thing. The bad started when people started to call the “good” foods clean and bad foods “dirty”. This is wrong because it implies bad vs good when it comes to food. I can assure you that I and many others can argue that any food is bad or good. For example someone may say bananas are (more…)
Muscle UP!!!!!!!
Muscle UP!
Well here it is friends, PART 2!!! Are you as excited as I am? So first off, thank you all for following me during Part 1. I hope you truly enjoyed the beginnings of this transformation and if you thought part 1 was great just wait till I bust out part 2!
So basically Part 2 is now until the end of February. During Part 2 I need to build as much lean muscle as possible. I’ve got a little over 79 days to build, build some more and then add some more mass, just for fun. The more lean muscle tissue I can put on my frame, the more Coach Steve
and I have to work with come Part 3 in February.Part 2 is going to be very different. First off, I get to eat a lot more! No, I can’t pig out on whatever I want, but I don’t have to worry about biting my nails till my next meal. The workouts are also going to be different, these as Coach Steve said are going to be the most intense workouts I have ever done. Why? Because they are going to be HEAVY!! I will be pushing and pulling heavier weight than I ever have before. My splits will change on a week to week basis, with my reps ranging from 6 to 10 reps over 4 sets. That is way different from the 12 to 15 moderate weight I was doing the last few weeks of Fall. My workouts will also focus more on compound movements trying to get the most bang for my muscle in every movement. Squats, Deadlifts, Pull Ups, Bent Over Row, Bench Press, all movements that require a lot of muscles working together to push or pull the weight. Like Coach said, the most intense workouts I have ever done.
As for my meal plan I’m still eating high quality nutrient dense foods. I can have a cheat meal here and there unlike Part 1, but again, (more…)
Well…now what? Part 2 thats what!
WOW, what a few weeks it has been. First we had the big show on November 16th (more on that to come) and then the following week I started at a new location with Life Time. A lot has happened, and although I missed a blog or two, I can assure you that I didn’t miss a workout. Always, always make time for your workouts. Now let’s dive into it, we have a lot to cover.
THE BIG SHOW!!
What a great experience it was to be at the Kevin Noble Midwest Muscle Mania. So many talented competitors, so many fans and of course lots of Fitastic. As all of you know I was at the Fitastic booth standing loud and proud with my Wild Will Transformation board. It was great to meet so many of you and hear your kind words of congratulations and answering any and all questions that you guys had. I heard so many great and positive things. It became overwhelming at one point (in a good way). I felt very proud to know that my hard work was able to help inspire others. I was also inspired and became even more determined to take the stage by storm on May 17th, hit that side twist physique pose and blow the roof off of the auditorium. It’s all I’ve been thinking about since the show. It was also great to see my Coach, Mr. Fitastic himself, Steve win his class. I am so proud to be working with a man who talks, lives, eats and breathes the life style. I look forward to seeing you all again on May 17th when the Wild Will Transformation goes from the booth to the stage.
Part 2!!!
Speaking of stage we are moving to Part 2 of the Wild Will Transformation next week. A lot of you expressed concerns about “what now”. You’ve lost the weight, now what are you going to do. I understand that question and concern. Just think about how many people you know yo-yo diet and go up and down in weight. Someone loses weight and then usually gains it all right back plus a few extra pounds. Well that is because their only goal was weight loss. They either didn’t have a plan for after the weight loss, or they go back to way they were eating before. This is why we have discussed in detail why diets don’t work. Now as for Part 2, I don’t have all the details yet, nor do I want to spoil any surprises. (more…)
11 Days Out
As promised here are my current measurements and pictures. Check it out friends and let me know what you think. Remember you will get the see the final product on Novemember 16th at the Kevin Noble Bodybuilding show in Rockford, IL. Hope to see you all there! Remember to follow me on Twitter and Instagram @wildmanwill84
So much happy looking this way. I feel better, I look better. I couldn’t be happier with this transformation.
The Secret Revealed
What’s up guys and gals?
Sorry I’ve been away for so long. It has been crazy busy in the life of Wild Will. Training, working, prepping and trying to find 7 hours of sleep somewhere in all, that has been taking up a lot of my blogging time.
I hope all of you enjoyed the most recent set of transformation pictures from last week’s blog. By enjoy of course I mean inspired. As you all know, that is what I am here to do: inspire the masses. I was pretty taken back by those pictures as well, especially the back pictures. I always thought that my belly held the most fat. Nope, I was wrong, it was the back. Seriously, it looked like 2 Christmas hams just hanging there. I guess when you don’t see a part of your body every day you don’t really notice how bad you let it get. I can say I am truly proud of what I have accomplished thus far. It has not been easy and it’s actually about to get a lot tougher.
This week begins 4 weeks out from the Kevin Noble show on November 16th where I will be “on display” as the Wild Will Transformation at the Fitastic booth (I hope to meet a lot of you there). With only 4 weeks away some major changes to the meal plan are coming. Carbs went down to 100g a day and protein went up to 300g a day. The first week of being on this low carb plan will be tough, I am not going to lie about that, but it will not be impossible. Nothing is impossible if you really put all your mental and physical strength towards it (except for human flight; that will kill you no matter how hard you work at flapping your arms). As far as the food selection, that will not be changing much. I am still consuming large amounts of nutrient dense food. Notice how I said nutrient dense not “clean”, there truly is no such thing as “clean eating”. The only phrase more idiotic then “eat clean” is “eat clean, train dirty” what the hell does that even mean. If you know me well as you should by now, this is clearly a lead into next week’s blog were I debunk the myths of clean eating. If you thought the Fitness Bull!@#$ blog series was fun and full of knowledge, you are going to love my series on “clean eating” and the paleo diet.
It makes me laugh every day when people at work ask me “what’s my secret?” or “what supplements are you taking?” Sorry folks, I’m going to debunk this for you but I have now lost 30lbs in 41 days by eating nutrient dense food and exercising. I know shock, aw and dismay that I have not dieted, starved, fasted, pill popped or any other ridiculous thing people have tried in vain to lose weight. It just comes down to (more…)
