Be You

“I want shoulder caps like theirs.” “I want my bicep peaks just like that.” “I want abs like hers.” “I wish my legs were that defined.” “I wish my glutes were as round as hers.” “I wish one day that my back will look like that.”

I want, I want, I want. I wish, I wish, I wish. I know many people in this boat. There was a time when all I wanted and wished for was the physique of someone else. I wanted Nicole Wilkins shoulders, Amanda Latona’s glutes, Michelle Lewin’s abs, Dana Linn Bailey’s back, and so much more. I chased the pump day in and day out hoping one day I would be just like them. To have all of these features that mirrored them.

Then one day my mindset changed. I looked in the mirror, and was happy with what I saw. I was so busy wanting to look like someone else that I didn’t even stop to see the changes my body was making along the way. I was amazed, surprised, and finally started to wonder why on earth I wanted to be like someone else. I loved the new me! I was building my own body in my own way. The best part about it is that no matter how hard anyone else tries, I am the only person that can be and form the mold of myself.

The most important thing I have learned so far is that you must love your body every step of the way. There will be days that you are at your absolute best, and there may also be days that you are at your worst. Don’t worry about those days. They are just bumps in the road that you’ll get through. There’s nothing wrong with looking to others for motivation and inspiration, but just remember that the ultimate goal is to be the best version of you possible. Not a secondary version of someone else.

This next bit is from my very first blog post at themightyhbombs.blogspot.com and still to this day I feel it is very important. Sometimes you just need a little reminder…

“Sometimes I feel, I’m sure many of us feel, we need to be perfect. I agree we should always strive for perfection, but no one is PERFECT and never (more…)

In the Kitchen-Peanut Butter Protein Cookies

Happy December everyone!!

So look lets not pretend and act like we all don’t love cookies around this time of year. At least this year you can enjoy at least one guilt free cookie. Here is my recipe for Peanut Butter Protein Cookies. Enjoy!

Ingredients www.feelfitastic.com

1 cup peanut butter

1 lg egg

1 egg white

2 TBSP applesauce

1/4 cup vanilla casein protein

1 cup old fashioned oats

1/2 cup baking stevia

1 tsp baking soda

Directions

1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line sheet pan with foil, and spray with non-stick spray, (or line with parchment paper).

2) Microwave peanut butter in for 30 seconds, or until softened, which will make it easier to mix. In a medium bowl, mix together the first four ingredients until smooth. In a separate bowl, mix together the rest of the dry ingredients. Combine the wet and dry ingredients together.

3) Moisten hands (to prevent from sticking), and roll cookie dough into balls. Use a fork to press a criss-cross into each cookie. Bake 8-10 minutes. Let cookies cool, and enjoy!  (more…)

A Wild Will Update

Welcome back my friends. I hope you all enjoyed last month’s blog of honesty. That was a fun and therapeutic blog to write.  It felt good to get that all off of my

All Set and Ready to go!

All Set and Ready to go!

chest. I was pumped and ready to begin the year of the big bulk, but then…

I got sick. I don’t mean a cold, headache or flu. No, I had a full on stomach virus for three weeks. It all started the Sunday I posted that Follow Your Allow. My stomach started to feel like it was tied up in knots. First I lost my appetite for anything, then I lost my strength and then I couldn’t hold down anything I tried try to eat.

I had days were I felt ok but still didn’t eat anything but saltine crackers. My wife was extremely helpful by making me chicken noodle soup which seemed to help. I wasn’t able to teach the way I usually do at Orangetheory.  I started to feel a bit better by the Kevin Noble show. I wasn’t 100% but I pushed through it because I knew that on a day like that I need to be on my A game. I was able to eat solid food which was great. I made it through Sunday and then Monday night things went from ok, to bad, to worse!! I woke up early Tuesday morning face first in the toilet bowl. It was time to go to the doctor.

It turns out I was extremely dehydrated and need 4 IV bags and plenty of antibiotics. The results came back that I had a stomach virus brought on by eating food that was prepared with (more…)
