Week 13-Make the Time

Week 14 came and went. As I begin Week 13 I find myself in a difficult situation. In the course of one day I went from having all the time in the world to having virtually none. I am currently trying to juggle three jobs along with prep so really four jobs.  Let’s face it; prep is a job all in itself. Does this mean it’s time to throw in the towel and say well $#@! IT!! It’s over, it’s too hard, and I no longer have the time.  Can I get a HELL NO from the crowd? Of course I’m not giving up. It is when situations become dark or more difficult. That when we overcome them that truly tell us who we are as a person. What we are truly capable of. Just how bad we really want to make our goals come to fruition. Like the old saying goes when the going gets tough, the tough get going.

In my 29 going on 30 years in the life I have found that nothing in life worth having comes easily. It all comes down to how much you want it; and how hard you are willing to work for it. So this change in my schedule doesn’t really change anything. I just have to be cleverer in my day to day planning and my time management. I have to make sacrifices when it comes to education vs. entertainment. During this prep I won’t have time for all social engagements nor will I have extra time to sit and watch TV. I have to make every minute of every day count or I will not be successful.

During Week 13 I have also found myself on a new and very exciting workout program. Being on Fitastic’s Strength Training program I have seen some great strength increases. However now is the time to switch it up.  I took a lot of what I learned for the ST program and applied it to making my own. I still follow a tempo, I don’t think I will ever just push or pull weight mindlessly again. I follow periodization and I will still hit my major muscle groups 3x a week. The biggest change I made was volume. I added lots more volume. So now at the end of each 4th set I have added 3 additional drop sets. I have done this now for only two days but wow do I feel some major differences. I am again sore after my workouts (I haven’t been for the past few weeks) and I’m still able to push/pull heavy weights with proper tempo (4010). I’m looking forward to filling you all in after six weeks have been completed.

To end I want you guys to focus on what you are doing day in and day out. If you find yourself truly with “no time” to work out, I want you to examine your time. Look at how you are scheduling your day. Is there more time for entertainment and not education? If so, let’s strike that and reverse it. Take the time for your workouts, your meal prep, and your health time reflection. Use the time you have properly because there will come a time when you have run out of it. When it is your time to go, your time here is over. Fun fact you can have a direct effect on how much time you have left if you spend the time to perfect the body that you have been given. The time is now so use it or lose it.
